Samsung no wifi connect, remote not working

I inherited a samsung smarthub LCD model UN60ES6100. Cant connect wireless or get remote to work. I have an older model remote that's not smarthub but allows me to navigate. Help plz.

Even if some functions on the non-original remote work (most manufacturers don't have totally different IR codes from year to year) there's no reason that they all have to work. Any buttons that did not exist on the old TV won't exist on the old remote.

Try to turn off and turn on the router where you are trying to connect the TV, Then try to connect again, if it will not work, try to reset your TV. If still not, kindly search for the firmware update of the television in Samsung site and download it using USB. Unzip it to a USB stick and put your TV set then go to support then software update and update it from USB.
