I would like to have this technology applied to H.U.D. in cars. When the windshield updates on the road condition as well as the cars condition.

Thought, what he says is relative easy to do.

Immagine this as a car windshield able to project in 3D whats ahead of you using nightvision/infrared/radar scan in foggy weather with 1m visibility.

Several models of cars already have this.

There were several companies showing upcoming OLED products at CES. This transparent display was among them.

Also shown were flexible OLED displays, too.

Personally, I have held off buying a large LCD TV for this technology. With all that is going on in the field, including those working on technology that prints OLED displays with inkjet printers, I expect them to hit the market, en masse, soon, and the printed technology is likely to bring rapid price drops.

If anyone is interested in the latest, including shots of the flexible displays, have a look here - http://www.oled-display.net/

[citation][nom]zubikov[/nom]Can you imagine simulated 3D using tens of transparent OLED layers placed on top of each other? I saw an artist do it with slightly offsetting images drawn on stacked glass panes. It was mindboggling.[/citation]

I do not think that it will work - they are not that transparent - the layers in the middle will get much less light.

- killer of the idea
