Hey guys,
my laptop keeps shutting down when the battery is around 40% to 50%. I was wondering if it had to do with the cpu overheating or any other problem.

Any help would be fine and thanks

Solution
With only a year old the batter SHOULD be fine, but ive had one go bad in months (HP), but you can severely shorten battery life by over heating it, ie using computer on bed or somewhere your fan can't do its job. It's unlikely anything thing internally is causing such a large power drain, so personally I would go to a computer store ask if they have your battery. if so plug it in and see if your computer can be used below 40%, if so buy the battery (if you want) or if your computer dies again at 40% (unlikely) come back here and let us know.
I hope I didn't confuse you or what I said was too obvious, sadly there isn't an easy way to test the state of your battery.

Solution
Have you tried to run your laptop without battery?

If it is running fine without the battery then it is definitely battery problem.

If no, then it gets really complicated.

Hope I have answered your question.
