Samsung Smart TV & Home Theater system

My smart TV will not recognize the Samsung home theater system. It used to work fine and nothing has changed as far as the hookup. I did a factory reset on the TV and it still will not recognize the receiver. I'm at a loss as to what needs to be done. Any suggestions before I call in the Geek Squad?

Check the TV menu to make sure you have the ARC or optical audio output turned on.
Check that the receiver is one the correct input.
Check that the receiver makes sound with the radio or other source connected directly into the receiver.

Yep, I have done all of that. Receiver is connected to the ARC and it plays radio and DVDs with surround sound. TV will just not recognize the receiver anymore.
