Question SanDisk Extreme 256GB - 0 Spare Blocks Remaining in CrystalDisk

Hello,

I bought a new SanDisk Extreme 256GB USB stick from ebay and checked it with CrystalDisk and it shows the Health Status as "100% bad", focussing on two bits:

  1. E8 Spare Blocks Remaining is Current = 0 with Worst = 100
  2. E6 Percent of Total Write/Erase Count” Current = 100 and Worst = 100

I don't know what either of these things mean and googling hasn't really helped but "100% bad" is a concern.

Can anyone clarify if I should definitely return the USB stick for a refund, or whether this might be a false alarm?

Thanks.

Thanks for responding, just to clarify, I'm not concerned about whether it is classed as "new" or not but whether the CrystalDisk report means that it is likely to fail.

I read a post elsewhere that CrystalDisk isn't designed for SSDs but I've tried all my other USB sticks and none of them have an error like this.

I've just tried to post it as an image but it's returned an error but here it is the full report as a link, in case that helps:

Thanks.
