Satellite l650 won't power up orange light blinks then nothing

Solution

bad batteries can lock up the board. pull the battery, plug in the cord and power up.
if it starts, it's the battery. if it doesn't, the power supply or even the power supply
jack on the mother board could be at fault. if you are handy, set aside an afternoon
to pull the motherboard and re-solder or replace the power input jack. if you are not
handy, shoptime.

in any case double check your power supply and the input jack after bypassing
the battery.

cmos (memory/bios) battery Is weak. until you can replace it, pull power cord, remove battery, press
power button and hold for 30 seconds(this drains the cmos battery). install battery and cord. power up.

sticky power buttons. push several times to unstick.
sticky keys are a possible especially f keys.
go into bios and make sure that hard drive boot is listed in your boot preference order.
check for faulty screen/lid switch. can be in front latch or screen hinge.
can you get a copy of your power supply to make sure that you just don't have power?
also check power options to make sure you don't have a conflict in your power settings.
