Save pictures to galaxy amp 2

My phone storage is full and I've had my sd card in the phone since I bought it but I seen that nothing was saving to it. Once I tried to save some pictures it deleted everything. Does anyone know how to fix this?

What exactly happens when you go into the photo app and set it to save to the SD card? You take a picture, and it's still saved to the phone memory? If you go to storage manager, does the card show up there with free space?
