Is windows not displaying correctly (i.e. can you see all corners of windows), if so, adjust the display settings in windows.

Are your monitor settings off? adjust the monitor

i have a HP dv9000 laptop, intel duo core, 2 gig memory,intel 965 graphics. runs great, except the display is off to the right and down. when at normal setting you can't see toolbar, but attach external monitor and that is fine. tried different settings. any help appreciated.
