Hi, I'm in the middle of finals and really need some help getting my computer fixed.

I have a Lenovo y510p I bought last year and the screen recently broke. I ordered a new one but it was a low resolution that my computer didn't accept 1366x768. I returned it and then bought one like the original: 1920x1080 with all the same specs as before.

When I hook it up it shows four low resolution displays on the same screen instead of one big display to fill the screen. When I hook up an hdmi to the laptop, it fills the tv screen perfectly.

I've got an Intel(R) HD graphics 4600 and NVidia GeForce GT 755M display adapters. Using the device manager, all drivers are said to be up-to-date.

Thanks for reading this and I would be grateful to anyone with advice.

Hi,

If it's the same exact model it should have worked right away. Do try adjusting the resolution to the maximum and see if it will fill the whole screen. If these doesn't work try to uninstall/reinstall the graphics card driver.
Go to Device Manager and uninstall NVIDIA graphics.
- Open Program and Features then uninstall anything related to NVIDIA graphics.
- Download and install the latest driver there is.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/download/index.aspx.
- Reboot the laptop once installed.

If these will not work I would suggest replacing the screen, here's the exact replacement screen you need.

Laptop_Nerd, thanks for the reply! I reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers and related programs like you've instructed. I also maxed out the resolution to 1366x768. Neither one resolved the issue. The screen I bought was the glossy version of this:
