selecting mic input?

i have a acer aspire e 15 e5-551-t7tp and when i used to plug in my headphones it would pop up a option on what i plugged in ex. speakers, mic, heatset, eaerphones and so on well that doesnt pop up anymore so when i plug in my headphones now that has a boom mic it doesnt pop up so i can hear through the headphones but it will only let me use the mic on the laptop so confused i redid drivers but nothing changed so frustrated and before im asked the input is jsut a normal aux input

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to uninstall/reinstall the Sound card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound driver.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do set your Mic as the default.
- Right click on the speaker icon and select Recording Devices.
- If you see the Microphone listed, right click on it and select Set Defaults.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.

well actually i rebooted my computer now and it worked i mean i rebooted it after i did drivers and it didnt work and now i reboot it and it works and it doesnt show up in device manager when it works i dunno its werid but its currently working i really odnt like the setup i wish there was just a program i could download and click use aux as mic xD would make things much easier
