Setting up security cams without dvr?

I recently got a property and the previouse owner had a massive security camera system set up throught 4 acres.

He left all the cameras and cables mounted but took the dvrs. My question is how would i go about finding a dvr? Are they all universal ? The cameras are mostly modern but a few look to be from 2005 or earlier.

What type of connectivity do the cameras have? Coax or ethernet? What brand(s) of cameras? You SHOULD be able to find a location where all the cables converge. How many cables/cameras ?
