Shift keys are not working

Hello,
could anyone please assist why my both shift keys are not working on my laptop.

please help me to resolve this issue.

do you have a USB keyboard you can plug into your laptop?
although i don't suspect it, it'd be smart to verify the problem is the laptop's keyboard and not some weird glitch with the OS first.

i have changes the property of one of the ctl key to work as shift key.
