Should I buy a sound card ?

Im wondering since im getting a headset is there a difference between onboard sound and sound card and is it worth it to spend money on ?

Onboard sound is good enough for gaming, so no. That is, unless you have issues with your onboard sound (clicking, EMI interference or similar hard to debug issues).

Onboard can be pretty good and cards are easy to install after. Might as well give it a go then decide if a card is needed.
