Solved! Should i get 720p or 1080p

Hi everyone .
I am looking to replace my mum's old crt tv with a new lcd tv.
She wont be watching blu ray or using satellite tv, we've been using ordinary antenna.
So i was looking at some hdtvs, they had a hd-ready tv (32 inch) on promo but they didnt have any in stock ,
i looked somewhere else and found a 32inch lcd full hd from lg only slightly more expensive .

so i was wondering if i should get the full hd tv(1080p) or only hd-ready (720p)??

I think the tv channel in my country arent 1080p, they are just 720p.
so, would 720p upscalled to 1080p be crappy?? 😗
and again she wouldnt watch any blu ray or 1080p content anyway.

If you're not watching blu-ray or 1080p content (I don't know of anyone that broadcasts in 1080p, only 1080i/720p), there is no reason to get a 1080p HDTV. I think you'll be fine with just the 720p HDTV

Yea I also agree,

None of the mainstream broadcasts, or anyone that I am aware of, are in 1080p as wolf said, and also, at 32 inch, you wouldnt really notice a difference between 720p and 1080p anyways as the human eye would really only start to see a difference on the larger size screens.

As stated, most broadcasting is not 1080p. With that said 720p is fine for most anyone. However, if you watch BluRay movies they are in 1080p and you would see a better image. With that being said there is also the TV size to consider. If you are looking at a 32" tv, you will be very hard pressed to notice a difference between a 720p or 1080p 32" tv screen with your eyes. Once you start getting past 40 inches you start to notice the difference as the pixels in a 720p television are physically larger than a 1080p screen of the same size.

So when it comes down to a 32" LCD, 720P is just fine unless you are maybe sitting 2 feet away from it playing video games.

I think i will buy the 720p now, since i wont be watching full hd.
