Should I have this installed?

Should I have the AMD duel core optimizer installed as I play a lot of games? I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

All this is a clever bit of work from AMD to make software call a more optimised CPU instruction. There is no way to tell if the games you play would get any benefit from this at all.

It's not essential to have this installed. Give it a go I suppose but don't expect to start seeing your games load faster or have a magical 10 FPS gain.

Why don't you try it out and let us know your results!

I tried it out on Skyrim and it seemed to help a little bit. When I would move the camera around a bit it would stutter but with it installed, it was still lagging but was smoother and felt better.

So made a bit of a difference then. Good stuff.

Can you post your CPU and GPU details so that other people with similar hardware can find this tweak for Skyrim?
