Should I upgrade or replace my laptop?

I have Lenovo Ideapad 300 15ISK 80Q7 with
Core i7 - 6500U
4Gb DDR3L
AMD R5 M330.
I have Windows 10 Pro Fall Creators update 64 bit installed. The laptop lags often. It even becomes laggy sometimes when I use it with OneNote, a pdf opened in Adobe DC, 5 to 7 tabs on Firefox and a song opened in VLC. I've tried fresh reinstalling Windows.
The question is should I upgrade it with more ram and a SSD or just buy a new laptop. I can't decide which option will be more efficient.
Help me.

of course the upgrade will be cheaper - all you need is 8GB stick and an SSD of a size you need.
getting new laptop will be much more expensive.
with those upgrades it should handle all you tasks easily.

Upgrade of course.
Other than lack of enough ram and ssd this is still very decent productivity laptop.

agreed, you just need to get more ram and add a small SSD drive to the latop. if you still need a lot of space you can consider taking the optical drive out of it and use a HDD caddy to keep your old HDD for storage
