should my new laptop from pc world have a refurbished hard drive in it?

I have had this laptop for a few years and had thought of putting a SSD in it.When I nremoved the back I was astonished to see a hard drive with a REFURBISHED sticker on it, is this legal?

Not sure about legal or not, but if you bought it new and did not touch it, it should not have come with a refurb drive in it. Are you sure you bought this brand new and not some demo or refurb model? Was everything sealed?
