Solved! Shut-down with RAM installed

Hey, so I've got this laptop that keeps turning off after about 3 seconds whenever RAM is installed. I've tried 3 separate sticks one by one in the two different ports. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5741. I couldn't find a clear CMOS button, so I removed the CMOS battery for a few hours while there was no power going to the board, but that didn't fix anything.

I managed to get the computer to boot into windows a few days ago, but the display would turn off every few seconds for half a second or so. I also noticed that whatever I did, I couldn't get any display during BIOS. There was only display when windows booted up. Any ideas?

Most likely thing is a failed motherboard.
