We have 2 TVs, both are wired to same outdoor antenna . One of the channels we can get on one tv and only sometimes on the other one. Why?

Solution
When you split the antenna to two TVs you are reducing the amount of signal each receives in the spliiter.
The signal is further reduced the longer the antenna wire has to go so a TV that is further away will receive less signal.
Different TVs have different tuners built in. One tuner may be more sensitive than the other.
Replacing a passive splitter with an active distribution amp will solve problems caused by wiring losses. A signal amplifier will boost the incoming signal which should help if one tuner is inferior to the other.
If you can swap the TV locations that will tell you which one you need.
If the channel now comes in then you need a distribution amp.
If the channel still doesn't come in then you may need a signal amp.
