Sir, may i have your idea too! My sony DCR SR87 won't turn on too even i replaced new battery and eventhough i charge it there is no light on the unit.

Next option is that the camera itself is bad or the internal battery connector is bad. Looks like that is about a 10 year old model, not very unusual if it's not working now.
