Hi All

I am looking for a small computer (as small as possible) that I can leave in the lounge room without the missus cracking it but I need it to run VR easily PLUS store all of my VR games (LOTS) anyone got any ideas what I could go with here?

Cheers

usually smaller you get, less powerful stuff you can cram inside, less VR capable it will be.

How small is small, and how much is your budget. I do recall a VR capable mini water cooled small form factor just being shown at CES or something this year, I'll try to find the link. It was small, but came at a premium price. lol.

Small, I7 CPU, 1080GPU, water cooled.

VR requires some heavy duty hardware and excellent cooling. To get something 'small' and 'leave in the lounge room' that run VR 'easily' is VERY COSTLY. SO you have a choice, either extremely expensive to meet the latter goals, or just 'expensive' to play VR .

You could drop a 1080 in a mini-itx like the Phanteks Evolve or there's a Corsair cube that wouldn't be to obtrusive and would handle anything VR, even a gtx1070 would be decent and less expensive. But you will be looking at @$1250 or more.

Yep. It's the gpu that blows the whole deal. It's imperative for VR, the better the gpu, the better the VR, the more it can do. The higher the price tag. Just be aware that for a VR ready laptop, you'll be looking at very high prices, and the flipside being the more powerful the gpu, the shorter the battery life, and the more important it is to have a decent laptop cooler stand.
