That extra service is a ripoff. usually when they offer "free" stuff it is usually crap you wouldn't even want.

They start it off a crap like this now but later on they will remove features that you used to get for free and make it paid when enough people don't pay for the additional useless crap.

It's also funny how people get mad and say they wont pay for an option. LMAO! It's an option and the free service is still avaliable. If you don't like then don't get it. That easy.

[citation][nom]BulkZerker[/nom]You could say the same for anyone who buys XBL gold. . . oh wait you have to have a gold membership to even play online. $50 a year though for a bunch of free bite sized games though sounds pretty sweet.[/citation]
you aresoundign rather fanboyish, many fan boy's forgoet that MS runs a closed network of servers for xbx live gold, there fees apply to this ,acloseednetwork of serversmeans more stable pings and less lagin games, sony's network uses standard public servers . either way i'm not a fan boy and i havent payed for xbxlive once ,i gota one eyar subscription asabirth day gift . forthe mostparti play pc games so quit trying to sound like a smrt ass with me.

p.s. and why do i et thumbs down , for saying a rather rational post ??? seems unless some oen says soemthign totally fanboyish ,and biased around here , they get thumbs down... well screw all you fanboys and your brain dead fanboy opinion. meanwhile i'll continue playing every platform i can

It's 50 bucks for a year but you get 4 free games *A MONTH*. Which one PSN game, two minis, and one PS One classic each month, for 50 bucks a year it sounds pretty good.

Not to mention you can still play and do everything on a FREE PSN account. I wonder which has better value now, Xbox Live or PlayStation Network...

Sounds pretty good especially the store discounts. I'll probably get it and share the games with my friends. Thank you sony for the five console rule. Saves me and my friends a ton of money. Also if they put a psn game, two minis, and a ps1 classic for free for subscribers every month then you'll make all the money that you spent on the subscription back in about 3-4 months.

Because you can't even format your comment with proper grammar or spelling. Look over it a bit. Also, you're trolling.

This can only mean that Sony is eventually move PSN to a fee based system later on. Can PSN Free users already download demos? not to mention that the PSN is the slowest infrastructure I have ever seen, especially when compared to XBL. For the record I paid 1 dollar for the past 2 months of XBL Gold...it was a deal from MS...

As long as you can still game online with the free account, Sony can keep there premium service. This was one of the reasons I chose the ps3 platform. Not the only one, but it did factor into my descision.
