Sound Issue

Just bought an Acer 6920 for use in my at home studio but the audio sounds horrible. I've installed my trusty Adobe Audition 1.0 on it but I sound like I'm in a tin can. Is this a sound card issue or a compatibility issue with Vista?

Are you using the notebook speakers? I certainly hope not.
