Question Soundblaster z on mobo with only PCIX4 Sockets

I just bought a Gigabyte Z690 Aurus Pro DDR4 mobo and there isn't a proper slot for my soundblaster Z and the onboard sound is virtually useless to me.

I remember reading somewhere that the PCI slot can have some part of it altered in bios.

So I was wondering if there is anyone that could help out please.

Oh I am using F20a bios as the latest one doesn't work for me

you can plug a x4 device in a x16 slot
