Question Speakers connected to monitor turn off when there is no sound

Hello,

I now have speakers plugged to my monitor, which I use for my PC and console, so that I do not have to plug the speakers to one device or the other everytime I switch them.

The problem is that whenever there is no sound for a few seconds, the speakers sort of turn off and then when there is supposed to be sound again, the speakers do a pop sound and turn on. It is kinda annoying to hear the pop and have no sound for like a second, so I would love to fix that.

The devices are connected with my monitor (Acer XB271HU) via hdmi. The speakers (Genius SW-G2.1 1250) are connected to the monitor via 3.5mm jack.

Ty for help.

Check your monitor manual or support on their website to see if they turn off the audio jack if they don't sense sound and if there is an option to disable that.

Have you tested them directly on the computer to make sure they don't do the same thing there?
