Spec me a sound card and headset!

Hey all.

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section!

I am looking at replacing my Roccat Kaves as they are too heavy for long gaming sessions. I have decided to go with a headphones and seperate mic setup this time around. I have a budget of around £200, but that can change if needed. I play mainly single player games rather than competitive multiplayer games. I also listen to metal, rock and electronic music!

I have been recommended a Xonar D2X with the DT770 (80 Ohm edition), is this a good choice?

Check if your game/s are good to go with Xonars - i would also consider the X-Fi Titanium HD with a seperate desktop heaphone amp for demanding cans perhaps?

I would assume most of them are?

Also, would the DT770 (80 Ohm) version require a seperate headphone amp.
