Special keys and F keys seem to have reversed?

I have a HP laptop and the special keys and the F keys seem to have reversed. Usually to use the F keys I would have to hold down the Fn key, but now I have to do this with the special keys rather then just click it. This is a inconvenience and I would highly appreciate it, if someone gave me some answers.

have you done any modifications in bios/uefi settings. if not, it is usually caused by a malware. in that case, see solution here http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3230874/laptop-turns-windows-log-displayed.html

You can change this configuration in the BIOS, It is possible you somehow flipped it or the BIOS battery has died.
