SSD Installation Help

Hello ,
I am currently using an HP 15r-264TU .

I plan on replacing the Hard disk with a new SSD and using the Hard disk as an external storage device.

I'm confused with the SSD choice. Is there a specific model or size I should be looking for a laptop ? Or are all SSDs the same ? It's a dumb question from my point of view, but please bear with me. This is primarily because I read two separate terms online "SSDs for Laptop" and "SSDs for desktops" .

Lets be clear, there is no such 'SSD for laptops' or 'SSD for desktops'. You can pick any SSD and i guarranty it will work on a laptop or desktop without problem.

Brands? Well, there is a lot out there, depends on your budget mainly.
GBs? Depends your usage. I have a 250GB for OS + Games and i'm short with the gbs., so i'm thinking to pick another one.
