Stardew Valley - Mining Guide

There are a lot of activities that you can do in Stardew Valley and one of them happens to be mining. Mining is a great way to get a lot of good resources that are essential to upgrading and improving your farm. The mines are not unlocked from day one, in fact they unlock on day 5 when Joja Mart opens up the way by blasting the rocks that are blocking the path.

Walkthrough:
The first thing that you need to know is the location of the mines. They are located in the upper left of the map. They are right next to the Adventurer’s Guild and they are accessible from the path that leads to Robin the carpenter’s house.

When you first enter the mines you can meet the leader of the Adventurer’s guild and he will hand you a sword and tell you how dangerous it is to go alone. You can then enter the mines and look for stuff that will help you in upgrading what you need. There are some precautions that you take however.

You should first of all keep some food on you because the mines take a lot of energy out of you and the monsters will take a lot of health out of you as well therefore you need to keep some food on you so that you can heal yourself when you need it. You should also keep in mind that the mines are generated randomly so there is no benefit in remembering where anything is because it will change as soon as you enter the mines the next time.
You should also remember that at every 5 levels of the mines you get access to an elevator that unlocks that level for you so that you can use it to go to the place you were already in. Therefore it is advised that you should progress through the mines 5 levels at a time.

You should also remember that the time that you can stay up till is 2:00 am and if you reach that deadline you will fall unconscious and will be sent to the doctor. If that happens you will lose random items and can even end up losing your sword. Fear not though, if you lose your first sword you can always use your scythe as a weapon as it works the same as the first sword you get.
Once you have mastered the mines and reached the bottom you can move on to the skull cavern. In there you can find better minerals and tougher monsters but there is one interesting thing about the cavern. It is endless so you have to be careful so that you do not overexert yourself.
