Student in need of help with laptop..

Hello,

I'm going to uni in a few weeks and I'm trying to find what laptop to get, I love PC gaming and would like to have best of both worlds. I'll be doing engineering so I know I need good hardware to run programs. I'm not getting a mac because I don't think they are worth all that money. I've been looking at the Lenovo Y520 it has the i7-7700HQ with the 1060 Max-Q , 126Gb ssd and 1TB. It's priced for $1300 CAD that's the best I can find for that price. I'm Canadian but if there is a good price in the US I'll ship it up. Anything that's in the $1000-1100 US is around the same price as the Lenovo so I'm looking for help to find the best laptop for all my needs... all I need is something to run Day Z hahaha. But the VR is getting popular and if I can get a laptop that is VR ready that would be a bonus.
