Subwoofer help!

So I bought a subwoofer yesterday and it is shipping atm, and I was looking how to hook it up and on the back of my stere reciver It has a subwoofer out, and on the subwoofer it has a IN, but n the subwoofer fr the IN it has L and R (two plug ins) and on the reciver it just has 1 plug in. Is there a speacial Y-Cable I need for this? there are more wasy to hook it up but I would prefere this way. Here is the subwoofer and reciver

Just use the left (L) channel input. Using both won't make any different.

Yep - the left input alone should be fine. That's what I run on my SVS 16-46 PC plus sub, which has the same inputs, just a left and right rather than a single. Looks like a fairly nice sub for the money too - I haven't looked too much in that price range, but based on the specs and reviews it compares favorably to several subs in the $400 range that I looked at when I put together my system.

lol, thats good to know thanx for the reassurence. We kind of bought it quickly cause it was cheap and big . And as you see i looked at the specs after i bought it which i know isn't a good thing to do

I have the 12" version of this sub. It's decent, but at least with the 12" you at times get a rattling sound at loud volumes. Generally only on long, bass-heavy sounds, not explosions, music, etc. And only when cranked. It's not from the speaker itself, but actually from the air coming out the front port. Overall it's still a good value. A local store had mine on clearance for $150 so I grabbed it.

That tends to be true about relatively small subs when cranked very loud, especially with a relatively small port size (keep in mind that my sub is a cylinder over 40" tall with a 12" long throw driver and 3 4" ports, so that's what I'm comparing to when stating that a sub is "relatively" small). At moderate volumes though, which is really what that size of sub is intended for, it should be quite clean, with good bass for the price. Of course, it won't match something like this, but it's half the price.

Some of the cheap 8" sound downright buzzy. That's why it's been relegated as a secondary sub behind the couch and replaced by 600 watt 12" JBL.
