sudden drop in FPS while gaming

Hi,
i've been using my laptop for a year now...
I used to play CSGO at 120 fps but recently the fps drops to 40 for 5-10 seconds with a lot of fan noise and this repeats every 5 minutes...
i tried to update drivers and all ... but nothing works
what could be the problem?
specs:
hp pavilion 15-bc000 notebook,
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
8gb RAM,
nvidea GTX 950m 2GB graphics,
