Sudden lag on laptop

Hi all,

Wondering if I could have some help with my laptop, within the past few days it has becoming extremely laggy and slow that it's just barely usable.

For instance when I come to lock it it used to just lock straight but now it takes a while, I'll go to lock it and the screen will go black then it will say ''Locking'' before finally locking. When accessing the internet it take's forever to load a page up and the videos are very very laggy, it's definitely not my internet as I have tested it on my tablet, phone and my sisters laptop, which all load webpages fast.

Anyone know what's happened? I haven't installed any software or drivers recently that may have caused this problem, I scanned my laptop and nothing came up as a virus etc.

Rather annoying! 🙁

Nope, have about 700GB left on it.

What anti virus are you running? Some like AVG and Norton are known for their huge hungry for CPU resources.

Things to do:

See if theirs a update for your BIOS.
Use malwarebytes free version and scan for viruses.
Get rid of all programs that your not using. Specifically the ones that run in the background.

That CPU is a very low end laptop, so try to keep your computer as clean as possible to prevent major hiccups.
