Suggestions for Combining Audio from Radar Detector and DAP

Hey I just got a great Beltronics Diablo radar detector, but its not going to do me that much good if I am required to constantly look down at it, and away from the road. I have a digital audio player that I listen to through Shure se215 headphones. I gotta say I LOVE THESE THINGS, they have filters in the olive squishy part so they are essentially filtered earplugs that I can pump tunes through. I am looking for suggestions on how I can combine the stereo sound from both the radar detector and my DAP. Am I stuck buying a >$100 mixer? Please do not suggest that I do not listen to headphones while I ride, I do not turn the music on when I am around in town but I do weekly 4+ hour commutes and music is the only real cure for white line fever, if I wasnt listening to music I would be stuffing my ears with earplugs anyway, I love hearing and will continue to protect my ears. Driving with earphones on is illegal in many jurisdictions.

Ill go ahead and say not where I am from, does anyone recommend a mixer or would a y-splitter work well?
