system hang and led blinking continously

I am using Dell-vostro. My system is have dual boot. One is windows and another one is Ubuntu. I mostly work on Ubuntu. Sometimes while I am playing vedios or anything in Ubuntu suddenly system hangs and Caps Lock Led is blinking continously. At that time i can switch off my system directly using power off button then start again it works properly wy..?

Hi,

System lockup may be caused by a hardware problem or overheating.
- Do run a test with it's HDD and see if it's still healthy.
- Also if you know your way around a laptop, open your laptop and clean the inside of it.
- Make sure that there are no dust stopping the fans from spinning properly and apply new thermal paste on both GPU and CPU.
- Do also reseat the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure that they are all seated properly.
