I appreciate the effort to compare the Apple AirPods 4 based on features like ANC and price, but this feels more like comparing apples to oranges. As someone who strictly prefers earbuds without sealing tips (IEM-style designs? Sorry, I’m not sure of the proper terminology), I’d really love to see comparisons that focus exclusively on non-sealing earbuds. Sealed IEM-style earbuds inherently perform differently due to their isolation, making these comparisons less relevant for those of us who prioritize comfort over a perfect seal. Comfort may not be the best word here, but hopefully I am making sense. Venting/passthrough etc will just never cut it for me.

To clarify, I’m not looking for over-ear headphones, on-ear headphones, earbuds with sealing tips, or in-ear designs with sealing tips. I’m specifically interested in earbuds that rest at the edge of the ear canal without creating a seal. It feels like we need to add this official category to the industry and corresponding reviews.

It’s challenging to find reviews that directly compare non-sealing earbuds, and I think such comparisons would benefit a significant audience. Thank you for your work, and I hope to see more targeted reviews in the future!
