I'm prepared for fewer bold moves and more features that adapt to the market. I can totally see Apple including NFC and messing with the standard resolutions that they have fought so hard to standardize in the past to prevent fragmentation. 8MP camera sounds too low? Let's make it 16MP and tell people it's twice as good!
When you don't have one dictator-like genius to strong-arm an army of developers and engineers, and breed a cult-like following, Apple will become siloed and will fall into the same traps as every other large company. The OS folks will push their agenda, hardware folks theirs, while the recent hires in retail and music will just run it like their old business.
