Second, is your wireless adapter enabled in your BIOS? Also, is it enabled in Windows?

Assuming the obvious and that you have attempted turned it on with the switch or key combination, check the BIOS.

Also, if need be enable BlueTooth in the BIOS and then boot up. I have seen this effect HP Elitebook machines we purchase.
