The more complicated it gets the more holes in it? I hope I am just over simplifying stuff. Do you charge those cards as well (no pun intended)? What if the LEDs/LCDs won't show?

The problem is having such a system elsewhere for use just in transaction rather reporting to your bank or not, cause so to say as card use, you wouldnt have to, unless using as say a "credit" card for your funds or credits. Money. Cause on one part, the security is meant for user access, you are speaking of user use to communicate if funds are avaible and for use. Which is fine, what most cards do now right?

In terms of encryption some would maybe be needed as such for transactions, cause transactions are going to be based on a price and a value in which to be able to spend from, which on either side should only be known as such for what side. In the middle is where you speak of and not much a say reasoning for it as being said for use, unless you get you pin code card for use, which adds in security to right of user access of card. Of such then doing additional crypting would be to ensure validating of account to bank for use of credit or varify credit use or funds use on card.

Points addiontal to card as rewards, might need a verify, but given again, points are rewarded to specific locations, these locations would need to be able to check to see what and where points could go from card. Right? Cause you arent getting ahold of say company to use points, right? Accept to verify and balance, Right?

[citation][nom]mikem_90[/nom]As stated above, this only protects if your card is lost or stolen. It does NOTHING if your numbers are swiped, stripped, stolen, or read in a credit card skimmer. I had high hopes for a moment, that this card would institute some sort of one time use credit card number system, or some kind of rotating number scheme. Currently some banks offer services for one use credit card numbers, but it would be better if we moved to a system that could handle a combination Credit #, PSK + Passcode -> Encrypt. Change the Pre-shared key every so often it shouldn't matter too much for skimmers. Though I guess if the thief was eager enough with this new card, he could clean the plastic off and try reading the ram directly unless its encrypted. Doubtful it would be, new products like this rarely think that far ahead.[/citation]

I'm in the same boat as you, Maybe some sort of RSA encryption or maybe something along the lines of an RSA SecurID VPN Token, that has a series of credit card numbers on your account but only 1 of them is active at any point in time then randomly changes. Im sure its coming down the road but this is awesome!
