I've seen a few threads here asking this that have been closed due to presumed theft. Our laptop was legitimately bought refurbished from the school board (they had become outdated, but the specs are decent). They obviously removed the school firewall, because after the second reboot it tried to install 158 backlogged windows 7 updates. For some reason it failed (who knows), but we've decided to put Linux Mint on it. However, I can't get into the BIOS menu to choose the flash drive. I've read about removing the CMOS battery, but don't want to take the risk of not knowing where it is. :p

Is there any other way of changing/removing this password? If not, does anyone know where the CMOS battery is and how do get to it?

Thanks a lot,
