The Wii is basically becoming like the competition. Just look at the PS3 and Xbox 360. The Wii used to be different, now it is using a traditional controller, same color, and added HD capabilities. I think it's probably better than the original but Nintendo should stop trying to go against the grain if it's going to end up copying the other manufacturer's later.

the wii is a hideous designed console period if you ask me , cahnging it's color doesnt change that. to me it looks worse that the gi-normous original x box it jsut deosnt same games to me (but then again enither does the ps3)

i think some of the best looking consoles ever are

1. Game cube (great compact and cute , now if only it could have seen better titles)
2. PS 1 (simple , and easy to use)
3. Dream cast ( very silmilar to the PS 12 in looks thoguh a bit fatter)
4. Super Nintendo ( it said games and it said power as well back in it's day all in a compact system)
5. X box 360(it's sleek , and looks good in a large variety of color/skin themes , though it is one of the bigger -better looking consoles, and in this rare case i'dsay they should ahve gone bigger with it to give teh components more overhead for cooling)

the worse looking i'd say are

1. Sega Saturn (looked like a cross between a funky sound system a oversized dvd player)
2. PS 3 ( looks more like a george forman grill than a console
3. original X box ( iot weas big bad .. and well ugly whiel it did say console , it also said "give me more room" i always had trouble finding it a spot in teh home theareter shelf because it was so massive but i can't knock it ot much thye crammed the components in it as tight as they could)
4. N64 ( sure it wsa cute it was fairly compact and it said games.. but it was a really awkward shape that jsut didn't fit well in many spaces it could ahve gone witha simplier body design.
5. atari 2600 (original release) ( now dont get me wrong i guess back in teh day wood paneling was all the rave, so sure it was stylish , but it was also massive and shapped like a upside down trapizoid jsut wierd design ideas , it also had a "old" look to it even when it was brand new , the second "slim" version of the 2600 looked far better on teh eyes if you ask me

note that wii was on neither of these list , and that i guess is my biggest complaint with the system's looks , it's just to bland it looks like any number of tech gadgets out there , it doesnt "jump" out and say "games" nor does it simplify it's self enough to make it's bland look blend into to the rest of your home gear. thus it becomes an eyesore sitting next to all your other home electronic equipment,in my opinion, it's just a wierd but uninspireing desing both.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, people are getting all "up in arms" about it being black instead of white... saying how it is not being true to itself or some garbage.

Look, most people game on their media systems now, in their living rooms, with 90-100% of all of the other components being black, it makes sense to me. It makes for a better over-all look, then having all this black equipment and one white piece sticking out like a sore thumb. Bottom line is, if your going to buy a Wii, now at least you have the option of matching it up with your other equipment.

Just as Microsoft and Sony try to bridge the gap to reach out to casual gamers to steal some of Nintendo's marketshare, Nintendo is trying to entice hardcore gamers. However, with outdated graphics, and few mature titles in their lineup, I think it will be a bust; can't blame them for trying though.

I wish they had released it in black from the start. Everything else in my entertainment system is black. I'm not gonna drop several hundred dollars replacing the white Wii and all its accessories. Ah well.

bash nintendo all you want. look at the revenues. nintendo wins. know why? cuz games are for kids. time to move out of your parents basements and get a job.

i prefer the looks of PS3 over Xbox360 my man.

Xbox 360 has a large black turd trailing it.

Can't take a console named after a bodily function seriously... sorry. Do you Play Wii or take a Wii... or Play WITH your Wii?

If you play too much with your Wii will you go blind? Is it a sin?

Or maybe it's the fact that I've played 2 decent games on it and all the rest have stunk worse than "Big Rigs".

Lol... way to make a first impression... bash gamers on a board of techies, most of which are gamers.

I can tell you're a bright one.

Man, reading your trash just hurt my eyes. Can't you proofread anything you type...that's the problem with this world; no attention to detail!

rant over
