[citation][nom]A Bad Day[/nom]I'm not blaming piracy, but to say that all of the problems are the developers' fault is, short-sighted.Extra Credits did an excellent episode discussing about piracy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfZv_lPwBFI[/citation]

what hit games has extra credit put out?

piracy isn't the problem, the problem is companies like EA sucking the war chest dry and leaving the developer high and dry. ask bungie about that.

More demos, less crapware that leaves the consumer holding the bag after being duped.

Imagine shopping for a vehicle without being allowed to test-drive it for yourself first. All they let you know about are the TV ads. That's how I see software. This knowledge-vacuum of being forced to steal the car in order to test drive it first is basically what you have with a lack of demo-software for computer gaming. The companies are to blame, not the consumer.

I have no qualms about pulling down a torrent of something that lacks a demo. If it measures up to what I want, I head over to either Steam or Amazon and buy it. Simple. If not..... DELETE.

I was really hoping THQ would pull through. Many of their games I never purchased, however I did recently buy both Darksiders and Darksiders 2. I devoured Darksiders. My wife hated how I couldn't put it down. Really want to see a Darksiders 3. :(

If game companies don't want to go bankrupt they need to start pricing their games for what they are worth based on quality and originality. So many times I've found myself saying NO WAY in hell I am paying $50+ bucks for that game, then downloaded the torrent because to me it was worth maybe $15. The few times I felt that I was wrong I went and bought the retail copy for the multilayer and real value.

Blaming lost incomes on piracy is just another excuse. They can't claim they lost money that never existed because 95% of the people who downloaded the game illegally wouldn't have purchased it regardless.
