time and date will not stay set

i have a second hand acer aspire e1 501p 2822 laptop, price was to good to pass up, now i know why so cheap, it has problems that i can not get around, that to fix will cost as much as a new one, the first missing half the mount screws, can not set the clock at all, and it has a toshiba hd, that makes it unuseable unless i have the password. i have gone to acer site as well as talked to them, with little help as it has no warranty left, so i now have a second hand acer aspire e1 501p 2822 laptop, i now use as a paper weight. anyone have any ideas or help

any repair shop will sell you a few screws cheap
clock set .... you probably just need a new cmos battery .... very cheap

We won't help with bypassing the password on the hdd. That includes being able to use it so info can't be recovered. Unfortunately that's just the rules because of legal implications. Even helping to use the laptop itself is a bit in the gray as it could fall under being stolen.
