To repaste or not?

I have never repasted a laptop before and wanted to ask the community if a repaste would help my thermals, according to the pictures attached (this is the factory paste job). Repaste or am I fine?

In that case, you will definitely need a re paste.

Since you have already taken apart your heat sink, you will need a repaste.before placing the heat sink. Besides, this is not the right way you could have done to check thermals. You need to stress your CPU+GPU using some benchmark tools and check temperature using software such as HWMonitor.

but yes there was way too much thermal paste in the first place.

Make sure that you clean it off properly and only add a drop on each chip.

More is not better

Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind going forward. I have done extensive stress testing with an undervolt applied and have been hitting an average temperature when gaming of 85 degrees with frequent spikes to 100, I should have been clearer about that in the OP.
