To the article: Nintendo revolutionized motion sensing gaming with the Wii. Now they need to continue to innovate with either new hardware for the Wii or bring the next gen Wii online. Just because Wii sales are slacking off doesn't mean they haven't done a great job overall, they have just saturated their current potential target audience to capacity. Hopefully for Nintendo in the next several years they can bring out some new games and new hardware before too long.

No HD support has always been a deal-breaker for me with the Wii. I can live with outdated hardware, but having no support for at least a 720p resolution is pretty much unacceptable in a market where you can't even buy a standard definition TV anymore!

[citation][nom]palladin9479[/nom]Ahh but that is entirely the reason to have a Wii (and before it the GC). Its the best "party platform" for adults. While the two other consoles fight to be media platforms and hardcore gaming platforms the Wii instead places itself as a casual gaming platform. When me and my gf have our friends over, its incredibly fun to throw in a party game and start passing the sticks around. Throw in some drinking game rules (lose a round take a shot) and things get awesomely fun.For "gaming" stuff I'm usually on PC or 360 / PS3, but for group fun nothing beats the Wii.[/citation]
The Wii and Game Cube are also very portable. Friends and family often ask me to bring one or both to gatherings.
