I have a toshiba satellite L50T-B. It's showing a black screen with a keyboard on it and asking for a password immediately when i start it. Is it because i didn't use it since a year plus? Please what should I do?

Toshiba laptops had a bad habit of protecting BIOS with a password some time ago. The always deined everythong and I know of no-one who ever got back in.

You might help matters if you open the case and remove the shiny circular battery which keeps the BIOS going. It's known as the CMOS battery and yours might be flat. A new one might defeat that message.

The reference will be engraved on the top - 2032 or similar and you can buy them on e-Bay.
