Toshiba Laptop cannot detect new battery.

I have a 34-month-old Toshiba Satellite. The old battery was losing is charge quickly, so I replaced it with a new one. The laptop can still detect the old battery, but not the new one. Help?!

Sounds like you got a cheap aftermarket battery. I got burned my first time too.
