But I'm frugal....CHEAP.....trying to squeeze a little more life.

scanned at Crucial.com and got HDD recommendations.

Toshiba c655-s5049
The only changes I've made was a RAM upgrade- to 4 Mb

I'm not a computer guy, so my terms might be lacking...
basic uses- internet surfing and streaming tv, ITunes.

My current HDD is Intel Celeron 900 2.2Ghz

CPU usage spends lot of time at 90-100%
Physical memory is around 34%

crucial spits out a few HDD's that are stated as upgrades. I was considering this
WD Black HDD 750 GB SATA-600
Part number: WD7500BPKX

Would this possibly solve my issues with high CPU?

Noticeable difference in speed?

Are all the Crucial recommendations plug/ play/ reload Windows 7 SP1 and go?

Thoughts?
Suggestion?

Thank you!

No, Harddrive speed has very little impact on the CPU. It may in fact raise your cpu usage as a faster drive can feed data faster but since you're already up at 90 percentile I doubt that would be the case.

Only in loading of files and related tasks, like windows startup.
