i have a toshiba satellite c55d with an very odd issue. the other night i told it to shut down and shut computer. the next morning it would not turn on. i tried my other battery, tried a hard reset nothing. so i took it to a buddy of mine who does computer repair and it turned right on for him. so i took it home turned it on went to plug it in and it did not switch to ac power it stays on battery i dont even get a (plugged in not charging) its running like its not even plugged in. any ideas?

I have and my speakers use a similar size ac adapter I plugged it into them and they turn on so I know the problem is not the ac adapter. I only got the computer back on March 1st.

Hi, maybe you have a bad solder on the DC jack, depending how you push the adapter's connector in, sometimes you have a good or a bad contact.

And I have power at the end where it plugs into the board because when trying to get my voltmeter to read the voltage I hit the terminals and it arcs so I think I might have popped the little fuse on the back side of the board

Jarotech you were the closest my buddy checked the voltage coming out of my power cord and found it was fried so even though it was giving power to the mother board it was not enough to power or charge it thank you to all who commented
