The RTC cmos battery on my satelite m100 laptop is dead and its taken so long for the replacement battery to arrive I can't remember which way up its supposed to be soldered on to the motherboard, can someone send me a high res photo of theirs?

Specifically i want to see if it has the writing / '+' side facing is up or down facing blank side, or if you can get a multimeter and test which leg is positive and negative that would be awesome too.

For context, this battery, next to the PCMCIA slot (found pic online but too low res to figure which side up it is)

the user manual doesn't help.

thanks!

I figured it out. easy in the end. the replacement battery legs are closer to one side. Soldered it on and seems to keep time. fixed. :spamafote:
